Position Description Dr. John Crary is seeking a student to volunteer as a brain bank assistant in his brain bank in the Mount Sinai Pathology Department. The student will learn neuroanatomy and how diseases manifest in the brain. The student will also gain exposure to challenges associated with treating, diagnosing, and studying brain diseases.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting physicians in brain dissection
Interfacing with neuropathologists and research scientists
Position requirements
Some exposure to neuroscience (i.e. undergraduate major), psychology, or related discipline
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Intent to matriculate into an M.D. or M.D.- Ph.D. program at the conclusion
Time commitment Part-time, volunteer (8 hours per week; 6 hours on Friday and 2 hours any other day of the week)
