Position Description NYU School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital is seeking students to serve as a Patient Navigator Volunteers for an NYU Medical School project entitled, “Transforming Health Care Systems through Interprofessional Training and Health Professional Team Development in Primary Care in Urban Underserved Settings.” Patient Navigator Volunteers will serve in Bellevue's ambulatory clinic and assist patients in navigating the clinic system while connecting patients with resources. Patient Navigator Volunteers will be required to complete a CITI training tutorial and two Bellevue orientation sessions.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring patients are able to easily participate in their care process (confirming patients are aware of where they are in the care process and are easily able to find the appropriate locations for the care they require)
Compassionately coordinating and organizing patient flow, including crowd control, queue management, and equitable service provision to all patients
Position Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Bilingual a plus (Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali preferred)
Time Commitment Part-time (3-12 hours per week), with a one year time commitment
