Organization Williams Laboratory at Columbia University Fertility

Position Description The Williams Laboratory at Columbia University Fertility Center is seeking a student to work as a laboratory technician. Technologies currently in development include nanopore-based hand-held DNA sequencing, point-of-care rapid genetic testing, single-cell analysis, circulating RNA analysis and microfluidics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping with the conception, development, testing, and validation of novel technologies for reproductive biology and infertility

  • Shadowing physicians and observing procedures at the Columbia University Fertility Center (optional)

Position Requirements

  • Must have extensive wet-lab experience (particularly with pipetting and molecular biology)

  • Must have excellent motor skills and attention to detail

  • Must be able to work well in a team

  • Computer programming and coding skills a plus

Time Commitment Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one year.
