Organization Williams Laboratory at Columbia University Fertility
Position Description The Williams Laboratory at Columbia University Fertility Center is seeking a student to work as a laboratory technician. Technologies currently in development include nanopore-based hand-held DNA sequencing, point-of-care rapid genetic testing, single-cell analysis, circulating RNA analysis and microfluidics.
Responsibilities include:
Helping with the conception, development, testing, and validation of novel technologies for reproductive biology and infertility
Shadowing physicians and observing procedures at the Columbia University Fertility Center (optional)
Position Requirements
Must have extensive wet-lab experience (particularly with pipetting and molecular biology)
Must have excellent motor skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work well in a team
Computer programming and coding skills a plus
Time Commitment Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one year.
