Position Description: Dr. Pavan Atluri is seeking a student to work as a research specialist on multiple projects in the cardiovascular research laboratory at the Perelman School of Medicine. The laboratory is focused on developing novel regenerative cardiac therapies for patients who have suffered from myocardial infarcts. The lab's work is interdisciplinary, combining basic science and bioengineering approaches.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing daily lab responsibilities
Developing own projects for abstract/paper submissions
Collaborating on clinical projects
Shadowing general and cardiac surgeons
Position Requirements
Two or more years of experience in laboratory research
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Independent work in cell culture a plus
Self-motivation and organization
Excellent communications skills
Consistency and commitment to research
Time Commitment: Full-time, with a minimum two-year commitment
