Position Description:
The Sloan Kettering Institute's Single Cell Research Initiative's mission is to accelerate biomedical discovery through the application of cutting-edge algorithms to a state-of-the-art single cell is seeking an individual to help develop computational methods and apply these to the flood of data emerging at SCRI to explore questions of tumor heterogeneity, drug-resistance, tumor stem-cells, mechanism of immunotherapy, emergence of metastasis and the tumor-immune environment.
Responsibilities Include:
Implementing and applying methods to process, normalize, organize and visualize single-cell sequencing data
Providing initial analysis and interpretation of data
Preparing python notebooks for interactive engagement with the data
Providing consultation, guidance, and training to research scientists using SCRI tools
Position Requirements
Must have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree with core biology and computer science courses
Must have analytical, statistical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with biologists
Must have a knowledge of programming language, preferably Python.
Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing data a plus
Programming experience a plus.
