Position Description
The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a research technician who will work under minimal supervision to manage the daily operations of the Kharas lab in the Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry Department. The role is meant to assist in a variety of tasks including maintaining a functioning laboratory with mouse strains, perform experiments, and to work with the other members.
Responsibilities Include:
Maintaining the existing collection of instruments and inventories
Placing purchase requisitions for reagents and laboratory materials
Performing experimental tests related to molecular imaging studies by using cell culture analysis techniques in cell cultures, in situ, and in tissue samples
Preparing mouse specimens for testing
Performing retrieval of data
Summarizing results/data reports
Position Requirements:
Must have a BA or BS in Biological or Natural Sciences with at least 1 year of job-related experience
Must have strong MS Office skills including Excel
Must have experience working with cell cultures, transduction of cells in vitro, PCR, and receptor-based assays.
