Description: The Berchowitz Laboratory in the Department of Genetics and Development at CUMC is seeking students interested in genetics and microbiology to volunteer in the lab for the fall semester. The laboratory research is focused on understanding the formation, function, and clearance of amyloid-like assemblies to govern RNA-related biological processes. Students will have the opportunity to gain practical lab experience while working with budding yeast (S. cerevisiae) for experimental science, as well as bacteria (E. coli) for cloning and protein purification.
