Position Description:
Northwell Health is seeking a student to work as a research assistant in pediatric critical care.
Responsibilities Include:
Collaborating with the investigator and other team members in developing plans, organization, implementation, and monitoring for research projects, interpretation of results, and preparation of manuscripts or reports
Setting up related interviews as appropriate
Participating in the compilation/writing of integrated reports
Preparing presentations and manuscripts of scientific meetings and technical journals
Organizing and conducting assigned studies, independently, following and adhering to current experimental protocols
Learning, researching and recommending new experimental procedures
Developing forms and questionnaires and coordinating the application of research techniques
Ensuring that work is in compliance with currently approved protocols, with Good Clinical Research Practice (GCP), and with applicable regulatory requirement(s)
Participating in design and writing of protocols, case report forms and informed consent forms for clinical trials
Performing a variety of independent activities involved in the collection, verification, analysis, documentation, and interpretation of research data
Selecting sources of information and specific data
Preparing correspondences to locate the specific data, as required
Evaluating and interpreting collected data
Preparing presentations, reports, and analyses describing progress, trends, and recommendations or conclusions
Position Requirements
Bachelors degree
Current knowledge of research study area, including attendance of scientific/professional meetings and training courses
Ability to work effectively as part of a team with good interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and work interdependently, meet deadlines with a sense of urgency, multitask, adjust to shifting priorities, communicate effectively and work under defined rules and regulations
Detail-oriented, good judgment, perseverance and persistence
Willingness to work occasional evening and/or weekend a plus
Research or analytical experience a plus
Prior experience maintaining lab work records, general paperwork, and lab-related databases a plus
Time Commitment: Full-time (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
