Position Description The Seaver Center for Research and Treatment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking students to serve as interns for the spring semester. The center seeks to better understand the causes of autism spectrum disorder through participation in research studies. The center is led by researchers Joseph D. Buxbaum, PhD, Director, and Alex Koevzon, MD, Clinical Director.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with data entry
Organizing study materials
Aiding with administrative duties
Assisting with participant recruitment
Accompanying patients to lab visits
Performing literature searches
Observing patient/doctor interactions (e.g. diagnostic assessments, intelligence testing)
Attending research conferences/seminars
Position requirements:
Interest in a career in medicine, psychology, or clinical research
A minimum of 3 months of research experience (a summer or a semester)
Completion of Abnormal Psychology and/or Statistics preferred
Time commitment Part-time (10 hours per week) depending on availability and needs
