Position Description Dr. Meredith Hawkins, Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is seeking a student to work as a research trainee. The research trainee will play a vital role in the development of current and new research protocols. The overarching goal of the research trainee is to coordinate daily research activities and to recruit subjects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing study compliance with the Institutional Review Board and FDA regulations

  • Coordinating several clinical research trials and daily research activities related to type-2 diabetes

  • Recruiting new research participants by conducting phone and in-person screenings

  • Keeping study specifics and methods up to date for each protocol

  • Assisting with writing research documents, presentations, manuscripts, grant proposals, and journal articles

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Effective time and resource management

  • Effective relationship development skills with research participants, faculty, and staff

  • Significant experience with MS Word and Excel

Time Commitment

Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one to two years
